About Slow Cooking Rich

Slow Cooking Rich is a beginner-friendly slow-cooker recipe site built for people who never learned to cook. Every dish is measured in spoons — no cups, no scales, no fuss — with clear Low, Medium and High timings, ingredients listed right inside each step, and extras like rice or bread noted alongside. Most meals take just minutes to prep; the slow cooker does the rest.

It's for the ex-takeaway eaters, the busy parents, the nervous first-timers and anyone who has ever read a recipe and given up halfway through. If you can hold a spoon, you can cook here.

The site is built by Rich, from Llanelli in South Wales — a self-taught home cook who spent years living on takeaways before a slow cooker changed everything. He's learning one slow-cooked meal at a time, keeping things simple, and sharing every spoon-measured recipe so you can start too.

About Rich

I had to learn to cook. So I did.

I spent years and years living on takeaways. I didn't have a clue how to cook — and honestly, I didn't think I needed to. Then the slow cooker came along, and it changed my life.

Losing my parents at a young age shaped who I am today. It's part of my story, but it's not the whole story.

I miss my mammy's Welsh dishes.

So I'm learning, one slow-cooked meal at a time. If I can do it — with no experience and a lot of takeaways behind me — you can too.

I've discovered a new me. Simple dishes, minutes to prep, and I love it as a hobby. If you've ever thought you can't cook — start here.
